As a Def Jam Records signee and friend of Kanye West, The Dream has cranked out numerous records with the rapper/super producer and has personal knowledge of ‘Ye’s personality.
Recently sitting down with Vlad TV, The Dream addressed a past rumored collaboration album with Kanye West. He says he would have liked to have done it but didn’t ask Kanye about the possibility.
“It was just a personal thing, whether somebody wants to do it or not at that particular time,” he said. “And the truthful thing is, I never asked him about doing it. It was just one of those things, couple records that sounded good together and I was like, ‘Wow, this would be cool and it was a great time for anybody at that time to do that.'”
When asked about Kanye’s 2009 Video Music Awards rant regarding Beyoncé and singer Taylor Swift, The Dream said Kanye’s rant was career defining for Swift.
“That was the best press move ever for herself,” The Dream said. “It was a cultural moment for her. Defining.”
Dream also says Kanye’s passion is rooted in his interest of visual art particularly at the time of the rant.
“I felt that it was the best video of all time [laughs],” He said when asked about the video. “At that time Kanye was such a visual person and I started to gravitate towards that later on but he has been around for so long and he has an eye for a lot of things and that’s just what he felt.”

No Malice, half of The Clipse, has destroyed the notion that the Virginia-bred group is working on a new album.
In the recent interview, No Malice revealed that he’s aware of the rumor and also offered the sobering truth.
“There is no Clipse album in the works. It’s not going down,” he told The Fader. “I don’t know where the rumor stems from. And I don’t know how this keeps coming back up—this isn’t the first time. But I would never play with the fans like that and act like something’s about to happen and it’s not.”
In the past, No Malice has been relatively closed to the idea of a Clipse album, because of the group’s lyrical history in drugs and otherwise illicit content. But, he revealed now that there are possibilities when Pusha-T is ready.
“I’m very certain that it could happen. A Clipse album could be done. There would be nothing like it. At this point in time, my brother and I attack music from two different perspectives,” the said.
Pusha T is presently working on another solo album with Scott Storch and The Neptunes.
What’s Obama’s beef against filmmaker and author Dinesh D’Souza?
1) He’s conservative
2) He’s outspoken
3) He’s donated money to the 2012 Senate campaign (over $20,000 worth)
4) In Obama’s eyes, that’s too much money
5) D’Souza has been critical of Obama in his books and films.
6) That makes Obama mad.
Obama’s indictment of D’Souza claims that he used straw donors for his campaign donations, and misreported it. Obama doesn’t like that.
Gerald Molen, the director of D’Souza’s film 2016: Obama’s America, believes the indictment is politically motivated.
“When American citizens begin to suspect that people are being arrested for alleged minor violations because of their vocal dissent against their elected representatives or rulers, it breeds disrespect and contempt for the law and suspicion of those officials,” he told the Reporter.
“In light of the recent events and the way the IRS has been used to stifle dissent, this arrest should send shivers down the spines of all freedom-loving Americans,” he said.
In today’s episode of “People Sure Like to Post Their Criminal Activity on the Internets,” we have 19-year-old Depree Johnson, of South Florida, who was charged with 142 felony accounts after his Instagram page caught the attention of local authorities.
According to Yahoo, Johnson already had a rap sheet that included grand theft, burglary, and felony possession of a firearm but he still posted incriminating photos of himself flaunting cash, jewelry, drugs and weapons on the social networking site.
A local sheriff spotted his page and called for a search warrant. Police found $250,000 in loot including illegal guns and ammo, and Johnson was eventually named the ringleader in a string of 30 to 40 burglaries in Palm Beach-area senior centers.
Johnson has been charged with 142 counts of being a felon in possession of a weapon or ammo.
Officers also arrested four other people alleged to be working with Johnson.
Mary J. Blige’s father, Thomas Blige, is in critical conditon after being stabbed three times. His injuries include a wound to the neck. R&B star Mary J. Blige’s father is in critical condition after being knifed in the neck by his former girlfriend, it’s reported.
Thomas Blige, 63, was rushed to Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, Mich., Thursday morning after being repeatedly stabbed by his ex-lover. Michael Thomas, the roommate of Thomas Blige, speaks after his return from visiting Thomas at the hospital in Battle Creek, Michigan.
The pair reportedly began arguing after Blige spotted the woman deflating the tires on his Ford SUV outside his Battle Creek apartment. He is said to have gone outside to confront her. They argued, before she allegedly plunged the knife into his body three times – including once in his neck.
Thomas Blige remains in hospital
Blige was allegedly stabbed by his ex-girlfriend after he heard her deflating the tires of his vehicle in the parking lot and rushed outside to confront her.
The woman fled, while a heavily-bleeding Blige returned inside. Cops were called to the apartment at 6:58 a.m. and found him with severe stab wounds. The incident took place outside Blige’s apartment complex at Oakbrook Boulevard in Battle Creek, Mich.

His former girlfriend, who has not been named, was tracked down to a nearby apartment. Reportedly wearing blood-spattered clothing, she was arrested and charged with assault with intent to murder. Blige’s famous daughter has yet to comment on the incident. Detective Sgt. Jim Martens told the Battle Creek Enquirer that blood was found in the snow near the apartment’s entrance drive and inside the home. Officers also found the knife they think was used in the attack, he added.
The woman, arrested “without incident,” was taken to Calhoun County Jail and will be arraigned Friday in County District Court. Martens added that cops had dealt with seven domestic violence complaints between the pair since August 2013.
The woman was charged in Oct. with domestic violence after battering Blige with a glass candlestick and was ordered not to be in contact with him.
Blige’s Grammy award-winning daughter, who’s sold more than 50 million albums, has not commented on the incident.
The woman is being held on a 500,000.
Rapid Reaction: Carolina Panthers
By David Newton | ESPN.com
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A few thoughts on the Carolina Panthers’ 23-10 loss to the San Francisco 49ers in Sunday’s NFC divisional playoff game:
What it means: The season didn’t begin the way the Panthers expected and it ended the way they hoped it wouldn’t: with a loss to an NFC West opponent in both cases. Their loss to the 49ers kept them from getting a chance in the conference championship to avenge a 12-7 loss to Seattle in the season opener. The Panthers had their chances early, but failing to score a touchdown on third down at the half-yard line and a 7-6 lead in the second quarter was crushing. What shouldn’t be lost is the Panthers turned a 1-3 start into a 12-win season — including a 10-9 victory at San Francisco — and an NFC South title. The foundation is there for future playoff runs.
Stock watch: Quarterback Cam Newton’s first trip to the NFL’s big stage didn’t go quite as well as he would have liked. He had a few moments. His 31-yard touchdown pass to Steve Smith was perfect. He also had a few moments in which he threw high — one resulting in a first-quarter interception — and held the ball long enough to get sacked. He finished with two interceptions and five sacks and a quarterback rating of 79.9 that just wasn’t good enough.
Crabtree the difference? Much of the talk all week was how 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree, who didn’t play in the first game between these teams, would be the difference. But it was Anquan Boldin who kept coming up with huge plays. He had eight catches for 136 yards, including a 45-yarder to all but put this one away.
Captain blunder: Cornerback Captain Munnerlyn got beat on Boldin’s 45-yard reception that went to the Carolina 2 in the third quarter. Boldin was wide open and Munnerlyn was lucky to catch him to save the touchdown. Quarterback Colin Kaepernick punched it in with a 4-yard touchdown run after a 2-yard loss. He then threw it in Carolina’s face by copying Newton’s Superman touchdown move.
Sack party? The Panthers sacked Kaepernick six times in the first meeting, but had only one on Sunday. The lack of pressure from a team that had 15 sacks in its previous two games was crucial.
On second thought: Still not sure why the Panthers didn’t let Newton attempt a sneak on third down at about the half-yard line in the second quarter. They had a chance to take a 14-6 lead. Instead, they lost a yard and settled for a field goal. Newton already had 40 yards rushing at that point.
Smith’s day: I’d say Smith was close to 100 percent. If there was any doubt how valuable the wide receiver is to this offense, he showed it in the first half, catching four passes for 74 yards. His 31-yard touchdown catch with tight coverage on the left side to give Carolina a 7-6 lead was a play no other receiver on the team would have made. To San Francisco’s credit, the defense shut him down in the second half.
What’s next? Next up is free agency, where signing defensive end Greg Hardy will be a priority. Inking Newton to a long-term deal also will be key.
